What is Microblading?

Microblading is a very powerful, effective treatment for getting an optimal pigmentation. It’s a technique harnessed in Asia, and has been taken to in the West after a few years. Today, you can get all the help that you need to look better than ever with a Microblading experience carried out by a professional who knows what they are doing.

You may have heard of this technique in one of its many names – permanent make-up, eyebrow tattooing and 3D eyebrows are among its most popular names.

Using this technique, an artist will create small, micro-lines across the epidermis. It creates an almost hair-like texture, and leaves a very natural and authentic looking experience despite its synthetic roots.

However, there is a difference between undergoing a Microblading experience and what many know as ‘permanent make-up’. While old-school permanent make-up was drawn on using a sharpie pen with straight, synthetic lines that would turn an odd hue after a period of a few years. With traditional permanent make-up, it’s literally ‘stung’ onto the skin. With Microblading, though, it’s manually scratched into the skin to leave a more pleasant, natural looking finish.

Microblading is perfectly suitable for anyone who is looking for a more natural, realistic looking kind of eyebrow. A ‘permanent make-up’ solution is more tailored to those who want strong, accentuated eyebrows that really stand out.

How Long Does Microblading Take?

Most of the time, our specialist team can have the whole treatment carried out in just 2 hours. This includes you personalized consultation, measurements and preliminary drawings, so the whole process can take just a part of your afternoon!

We’ll even provide you with a free Microblading after-care cream to help make sure that you can treat the operation post-completion.

Usually, users can get up to two years from a Microblading session. Obviously, the quality and durability will depend on everything from your age to your metabolic rate through to fat content in your skin and various other influences. From what you do for a living to the time spent at the beach, many differential factors can determine how your skin looks post-treatment.

Over time, it will begin to lose some vibrancy but it’s not as pronounced as some would have you believed. We recommend a touch-up program after one year to help refresh the pigmentation and make it look as good as new.

If you are interested in undergoing Microblading or semi-permanent make-up 3D eyebrow treatments, you just need to let us know. At Browlissima, we can undergo a comprehensive personal consultation to help you better understand the treatment before a single movement was made.

To get the best results, we’ll make sure everything is thoroughly discussed to give you all the help that you need to make progress.

Does Microblading Have Variable Colors?

Due to individual circumstance, results can vary from person to person – however, this does allow for a very real, authentic result as it always matches as closely as possible your natural, authentic look. We only use colors which are fully European and American certified, so you can feel safe about using our service no matter what pigmentation is used.

Microblading – When to Avoid

We recommend that anyone undergoing any of the following scenarios avoids undergoing Microblading treatment until their circumstances change:

Pregnant and/or Breastfeeding mothers.

Younger < 18

Diabetic

Viral infections and/or diseases

Epilepsy

Tendency towards keloids or scarring

Use of Accutane in the past year

Allergic to aesthetic (Lidocaine)

Extremely Oily or Problematic Skin

Use of Retin A

Hypersensitive skin.

Microblading – Before and After

Before: To start off with, we recommend that do not pluck your eyebrows for one week prior to treatment, and avoid tanning or extensive sun exposure if you can. Scrub around the eyebrows to get rid of skin cells two days prior to treatment – and avoid any kind of caffeinated / alcoholic drinks and blood thinners for 24h.

After: After your treatment, you should look to take around 7-10 days to fully heal. This means using the Microblading care cream as well as avoiding solariums, sunbeams, saunas, steam and permanent water contacted. Avoid anything that could cause perspiration, too. Lastly, avoid all foreign cosmetics and cleaning products.

Also, you might notice redness around the eyebrows afterward; this will disappear in a short space of time, so you can still go out and have a normal life afterward!

Got any questions? Then let us know; we’ll be more than happy to fill you in on any concerns you may have about permanent make-up and/or Microblading therapy.
